Float on Niangua River

A float on the Niangua River with Hidden Valley Outfitters has everything you are looking for.

Float your way by renting a:

  • Sit On Kayak - Single Person

  • Canoe - 2 Adults

  • Rafts - 6 Person (5 Adults comfortable)


Since we have private river access your rafts, boats, kayaks, oars, & life jackets will always be ready for you on the river bank. You'll be on the water in no time.


Our upper float is a 5.5 mile float that ends at the HVO campground and RV Park. The trip usually takes 4 to 6 hours. The last mile of the trip will take you right in front of Bennett Spring State park, where the spring runs into the river. The river on this trip is a little more shallow than our lower float providing a lot of areas for families to stop, swim and have a snack or lunch. The float only operates based on current water level. Please check with the store to see if this option is available at the time of year you are looking to float.


Our lower float is an 8.5 mile float that begins at the HVO campground and RV Park. The trip usually takes 5.5 to 6.5 hours to. Our lower float provides a lot of great fishing on the river, on locations that are not accessible from any public areas. During this float, you will leave your car at the HVO property at your put in, and will be shuttled back at the end of your float. No cars are allowed at our lower float take out.


Float Shuttles are offered if you have your own float equipment. For a fee you have access to our private river access, shuttle service, and our team handles hauling your boat. Let us do the work while you enjoy the water! Shuttles cannot be booked online so please call to arrange your shuttle.


Float Scheduling: While your float trip can be reserved online, this only guarantees your float for the day. Before your float you will need to arrange a scheduled time with the store. This can be done by calling the store a few days before your float, or during check in, assuming you are staying with us a day or more before your float. Rafts may need to launch earlier in the day based on water conditions.

Pets are not allowed in rafts, but are welcome in canoes or kayaks.


*Each float trip includes: life jackets for all floaters, oars/paddles, bags for trash, and transportation.
